Media: Central Gaza Lacks Space for Refugees from Rafah

14 May

The city of Deir al-Balah, where refugees from Rafah are arriving, lacks sufficient space to accommodate the influx of people, reports the Qatari news channel Al Jazeera.

According to their information, following intense airstrikes and artillery shelling by the Israeli army, many Palestinians are fleeing Rafah, located in the southern part of the Gaza Strip near the border with Egypt. Most refugees are evacuating to nearby Khan Yunis and further to Deir al-Balah, situated in the central part of the Palestinian enclave. Al Jazeera, citing its correspondents, notes that "more and more people are arriving in Deir al-Balah seeking shelter, but the city lacks space for the newcomers."
