Leading Russian museums to hold exhibitions in the UAE in 2022

Leading Russian museums, including the Tretyakov Gallery and Tsarskoye Selo, will hold exhibitions in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in 2022, the press service of the Russian Ministry of culture said on Tuesday.

 

"The Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation plans to hold a large-scale cultural event. In early 2022, leading Russian museums will present multimedia exhibitions and presentation sessions," the press service cited the words of the minister of culture Olga Lyubimova, said following her working meeting with the ambassador extraordinary and penipotentiary of the UAE Mohammad Ahmad Aljaber. The parties discussed cooperation in the sphere of culture and organization of joint projects including in the framework of Expo-2020 in Dubai.

 

As Lyubimova noted the State Tretyakov Gallery, Fanagoria and Tsarskoye Selo museum-reserves will organize the projects. It is also planned to hold a presentation session of the State Hermitage Museum and lectures on Russian art.

 

In addition, the Minister of culture thanked the UAE embassy in Moscow for their assistance in organizing the screening of items from the Polytechnic Museum at the World Exhibition. Exhibits of the institution will be on display at the Russian pavilion from November 10, 2021, to March 31, 2022.

 

According to Lyubimova, another event where Russian organizations will participate will be the "Week of World Cultural Heritage in Sharjah": from November 21 to November 25, the Russian delegation will present the best examples of Russia's intangible cultural heritage. "Our museum community, despite all the difficulties associated with the pandemic, has expressed a desire to participate and is very actively preparing for the event", - added the minister.
