Iran considers the reports appeared in some mass media saying that the Islamic Republic of Iran has allegedly achieved uranium enrichment to 84% as a distortion of facts. Iran Atomic Energy Organization spokesman Behrouz Kamalvandi said this on Monday, commenting on a Bloomberg publication.
"The published news are fabrications and distortions of facts," he told ISNA. - The existence of highly enriched particles is a natural phenomenon in every enrichment process."
For example, in the process of enriching uranium to 20 percent, [the presence of uranium particles with enrichment levels up to] 47 percent is observed, and in the process of obtaining uranium at 60 percent, uranium with higher enrichment is also observed."
According to him, "Iran has not yet tried to enrich [uranium] above 60%."
Bloomberg reported Sunday, citing sources, that International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors, following an inspection last week, found that Iran had obtained uranium enriched to 84 percent.
