Militants of the Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham terrorist group (one of the names of The Jabhat al-Nusra extremist group banned in the Russian Federation) are preparing provocations with the use of toxic substances in the South of the Idlib de-escalation zone, and White helmets activists are participating in the preparation of the planned places of provocations, the Deputy head of the Russian center for reconciliation of warring parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Alexander Grinkevich said.
"The Russian center for reconciliation of the warring parties received information about the preparation by the militants of the terrorist group Hay'at Tahrir al-Sham of a provocation with the use of toxic substances in the southern part of the Idlib de - escalation zone," Grinkevich said at a briefing.
The Deputy head of the Center also accused activists of the White helmets organization of preparing places of provocation. "According to available information, activists of the pseudo - human rights organization "White helmets " are directly involved in the preparation of the planned locations of chemical provocations, including [in preparation] for staged video filming," Grinkevich said.
According to the Deputy head of the Center, the militants plan to stage attacks in the coming days in the localities of Ariha and Besames "to accuse the Syrian government forces of using chemical weapons against the civilian population."
In July, the Center reported that the militants had prepared at least 15 explosive devices with an unknown substance to stage a provocation in populated areas of Syria.
