Russia during its presidency in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) is focused on such priorities as strengthening food security and technological capacity, and developing transport, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with colleagues in this union in a narrow format.

He recalled that Russia is chairing the EEU bodies this year, and Russian President Vladimir Putin has identified Moscow's chairmanship priorities.

"These priorities include developing technological potential and self-sufficiency in this area, strengthening food security, and building transport infrastructure that meets today's economic realities. We consider our main objective to be the progressive development of the alliance in all directions and taking into account the interests of each country. And above all to adapt to modern challenges," said the head of the Russian cabinet of ministers.

Mishustin announced that the main issues of the Eurasian agenda will be discussed at a meeting in a narrow format. "They are quite a lot, which reflects the impressive scale of the "five" challenges," he said.

According to the prime minister, it's especially important for EEU countries to work in coordination and make and implement decisions in a timely manner. According to him, citizens and representatives of business circles of the "five," as well as international partners, "who are quite interested in cooperation," are looking forward to it.

The Eurasian Economic Union is an international economic integration organization that includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan; Cuba, Moldova and Uzbekistan are observer states.
