Russia and Syria sign 15 agreements and memorandums of cooperation

Russian and Syrian agencies have signed 15 cooperation agreements, Colonel-General Mikhail Mizintsev, head of Russia's interagency coordination headquarters for the return of refugees to Syria, said.


"Fifteen agreements and memorandums have already been signed between Russian and Syrian agencies on the key areas of Russian-Syrian cooperation," Mizintsev noted during a joint meeting of the Russian and Syrian interagency coordination headquarters.


According to the head of the NDMC, more than 160 tons of humanitarian cargo were delivered to Syria as part of the visit of the Russian interdepartmental delegation. "The first batch of Russian vaccine in the amount of 250,000 doses and 1 million test systems, as well as other preparations to combat coronavirus infection, was delivered," he added.


Mizintsev underlined that 10 more treaties and agreements on legal assistance, network security, customs union, trade and economic cooperation and educational activities are planned to be signed by the federal executive bodies. The head of the NDMC is convinced that this will open new prospects for the development of mutually beneficial relations.


From July 24-29, an interdepartmental delegation of the Russian Federation works in Syria. The delegation is headed by Colonel General Mizintsev, head of the Russian interagency headquarters for the return of refugees to Syria. The delegation includes more than 230 representatives of 30 federal executive bodies and organizations, five subjects of the Russian Federation and the Russian Defense Ministry. As part of the trip, planes of the military transport aircraft of the Russian Air Force delivered to the territory of Syria from Russia more than 160 tons of food, medicines, property, equipment and cargo to provide humanitarian assistance to the population in need.
