Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has arrived in Almaty, Kazakhstan, according to a TASS correspondent.
On April 11, Lavrov is expected to take part in a meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers and hold separate talks with his counterparts from Central Asian nations.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova earlier noted that the agenda of the CIS meeting will focus on preparations for the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, along with cultural and humanitarian cooperation and border security issues.
Lavrov’s meeting with the foreign ministers of Central Asia will cover key topics in political, trade, economic, and cultural collaboration within the six-country format, as well as regional security and stability.
