Additional Russian military police forces have arrived to stabilize the situation in the Syrian district of Ayn Issa, Rear Admiral Vyacheslav Sytnik, the Deputy head of the Russian Center for the reconciliation of the warring parties in Syria, said at a briefing.

"Additional units of the Russian military police arrived today to step up efforts to stabilize the situation in the area of Ayn Issa," Sytnik said, calling on the sides that are firing to stop the escalation.

According to the Deputy head of the center, earlier in talks with the Turkish side, agreements were reached on the deployment of joint Russian-Syrian posts due to the unstable situation in the area.

The Russian side recorded 21 shellings by the terrorist group "Jabhat al-Nusra" (activities banned in the Russian Federation) in the Idlib de-escalation zone during the day, including two shellings in Aleppo province, nine in Idlib, five in Latakia and five in Hama province. No shelling was recorded from Turkish-controlled militias during the day.

"The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties calls on the commanders of the illegal armed formations to abandon armed provocations and take the path of a peaceful resolution of the situation in the areas under their control," the Rear Admiral stressed.
