Fighting inflation as priority of new Turkish cabinet

05 June 2023

Fighting inflation and attracting investments into the country will be among the priorities for the new Turkish government, Vice President Cevdet Yilmaz said on Monday at the inauguration ceremony.

"We will follow our election program rigorously. We will focus on fighting inflation, attracting investment, employment and economic growth," Yilmaz said.

Previously, he served as deputy prime minister in Erdogan's government, the state planning organization and the budget committee of the parliament.

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who was re-elected for a new term, on June 3 announced the composition of the new government, which was almost entirely renewed. The first meeting of the cabinet will be held on Tuesday, with economic issues at the top of the agenda, a source told TASS on Monday.
