Four Syrian militaries killed in attack by terrorists from underground cell groups

The Russian military notes the deteriorating situation in Syria's Deraa province, with an attack by terrorists from underground cells killing four Syrian servicemen and injuring eight others, Rear Admiral Vadim Kulit, deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of the Warring Parties in Syria, told reporters.


"The situation in the Deraa al-Balad area of Deraa province has considerably escalated. A number of state institutions, as well as units of government forces performing tasks of maintaining law and order were attacked by underground cells of terrorists. Four Syrian servicemen were killed and eight others were wounded," Kulit said.


According to the center, one Syrian serviceman was wounded as a result of an artillery shelling of government forces' positions in the area of the Bakdin settlement of Idlib province, and three shelling of Syrian government forces' positions by militants of illegal armed groups controlled by Turkey was recorded in Aleppo province.


"The Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties calls on the commanders of illegal armed groups to abandon armed provocations and take the path of a peaceful resolution of the situation in the areas under their control," Kulit stressed.
