President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin believes that halal is a lifestyle.
"And not only Muslims can produce and consume halal. We have 20 million Muslims in the country and it's a huge potential for the realization of the halal theme in our country. The standards by which halal products are produced, certification centers for such products are an important part of the industry. We have such centers, but for the scale of our country it is not enough. Even the work on halal standards is not always the same in different countries, for example, in Iran there are different approaches to the subject of halal between Sunnis and Shiites. We would like to orient our businessmen in this regard," said the speaker.
Sergey Katyrin also said that in recent years mutual financial investments between Russia and Islamic countries have increased significantly. However, there are problems with Islamic finance.
These problems were identified today by the president of the chamber of commerce and industry of the Russian Federation at the plenary session of the international economic forum "Russia - Islamic world: KazanSummit 2022".
