Lavrov: US behaves in the Middle East like a bull in a china shop

14 January 2021

The US and its allies are behaving in the Middle East like a bull in a china shop, it leads to severe consequences for the countries of the region,  Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said.

According to the Minister, Russia agrees that interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states and the imposition of some ideological schemes and recipes from outside is unacceptable.

"No one should be involved in this. Unfortunately, we see how in this region (Middle East - ed.) the US and its closest allies are behaving like a bull in a china shop: Iraq, Libya, attempts to destroy the Syrian Arab Republic as well. All this, unfortunately, is having too grave consequences for the countries of the regions, for the peoples who live here," Lavrov said at a press conference following talks with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
