Rustam Minnikhanov, President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the Group of Strategic Visions "Russia - the Islamic World", delivered a welcome speech at the opening of the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022".
"I am glad to welcome you at the annual XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022". This is the thirteenth time Kazan hosts this prestigious Forum. These days Kazan celebrates the 1,100th anniversary of the adoption of Islam by the Volga Bulgaria. Islam is a rich heritage of Russian Muslims. We are grateful to Vladimir Putin, Putin who supported granting this anniversary an all-Russian status. For more than 1000 years a unique culture of interfaith dialogue has been formed on our land. It largely helps to achieve social, humanitarian and economic goals of the republic", he emphasized.
"Islamic economics is an integral part of the world economy. The global challenges of recent years have had a negative impact on the global economy, but the growth of the halal industry continues. Thus, today's halal industry exhibition "RUSSIA HALAL EXPO" has doubled in size and occupies 10 thousand square meters. Today more than 100 enterprises of the republic produce halal products, about 20 of them are export-oriented," said Minnikhanov.
"Kazan summit serves as an effective economic instrument of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World". I remind you that tomorrow the next meeting of the Group will be held in Kazan."
Rustam Minnikhanov also noted in his speech the work of Russia's first Muslim television, Khuzur TV, and the Virtual Mosque project.
At the end of his speech, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan thanked all the speakers for their interesting presentations and all the participants of the KazanSummit.
