New Building of Iranian Consulate General Opens in Kazan

29 November

A new building for the Iranian Consulate General has been officially inaugurated in Kazan, according to a TASS correspondent.

The opening ceremony was attended by Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Vahid Jalalzadeh, Iranian Consul General in Kazan Davood Mirzakhani, and Chairman of the Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin.

Previously, the consulate operated out of "Suvar Plaza," a shopping center. However, due to the growing number of visitors, the decision was made to relocate to a larger, dedicated building on Sedov Street.

“Russia is a very close and reliable partner for us,” said Jalalzadeh. “We share deep historical and cultural ties, and I’m pleased to see our cooperation in culture and economics strengthening day by day. My visit to Kazan and the opening of this new consulate symbolize our commitment to further deepening these ties.”

Mukhametshin highlighted the longstanding collaboration between Tatarstan and Iran, noting that the consulate in Kazan was established 17 years ago. “Our fruitful partnership of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan [with Iran] has grown substantially over the years, expanding into many areas of mutual interest,” he added.
