Peskov: Russia is against the intervention of third countries in the situation in Libya

Intervention of third countries will not contribute to the settlement of the situation in Libya but attempts to help the process are welcome. official representative of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov told reporters.


"As for the situation in Libya, of course, it is of general concern, including our concern. Russia is interested in a soonest peaceful settlement in Libya and to end the bloodshed there. "We believe that any intervention by third countries in this situation is unlikely to contribute to a settlement, but any attempts by third countries to directly resolve the problem and help parties to the conflict come to a solution are always welcome", he noted.


Today, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced his intention to send to the country's Parliament a request on sending Turkish troops to Libya.
