President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has initiated the establishment of the interstate Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan council at the level of heads of states. This was announced by Zhaparov on Friday in Bishkek during talks with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
"We propose to create the interstate council at the level of heads of state," he said.
According to him, Bishkek aims to "continue work on increasing trade turnover" with Uzbekistan. "There is a positive dynamic in this direction, but we still have a significant potential in this area," continued the head of Kyrgyzstan.
According to his assessment, the sides have done a lot of groundwork in the development of economic cooperation. Including in the sphere of industrial cooperation, energy and agriculture.
"Of course, funding for these projects is required," Zhaparov said, suggesting that the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Development Fund will be used for these purposes.
"Joint projects will give a new impetus to bilateral cooperation," the leader of Kyrgyzstan emphasized.
