Putin discussed with the Prince of Abu Dhabi cooperation on Sputnik V vaccine

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Abu Dhabi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a telephone conversation discussed the interaction between Russia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the fight against the coronavirus, including the use of Russian vaccine "Sputnik V", the Kremlin's press service reports on Monday.


"The importance of joint efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus, including cooperation on the Russian vaccine "Sputnik V", clinical trials are currently being conducted in the UAE,"  the message reads.


The parties also discussed the Middle East settlement and strategic partnership between Russia and the UAE. "The situation in the Middle East settlement is also touched upon," the Kremlin said.


They confirmed the mutual intention to further strengthen the Russian-Emirati strategic partnership in various areas, taking into account the agreements reached during the state visit of the Russian President in the UAE in October 2019.


In addition, during the conversation, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi congratulated Putin on his past birthday.


The Kremlin specified that the conversation was initiated by the Emirati side.
