Presidents of Russia and Turkey Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan have held a telephone conversation. This was reported on Friday by the press service of the Kremlin following the conversation between the two leaders.
In particular, during the talks, the sides touched on topics such as the importance of preserving the Montreux Convention, the intensification of work on the restoration of transport infrastructure in the South Caucasus and the situation in Libya. "During the review of the situation in Libya, the leaders noted with satisfaction the observance of the cessation of hostilities by the parties and the successful formation of transitional authorities," the report reads. - "The leaders confirmed their mutual intention to support the peace process and restore the unity of the country".
The Kremlin pointed out that while discussing the situation in Syria, the parties emphasized the important role of Russia and Turkey in stabilizing the situation and establishing inter-Syrian negotiations. The conversation highlighted the relevance of the tasks of joint fight against terrorism, particularly in the Idlib province, in accordance with the provisions of the Sochi Memorandum of 2018 and its Additional Protocol of March 5, 2020.
In addition, Putin expressed Erdogan's concern over Kiev's dangerous provocations.
In turn, Erdogan told Putin about measures to combat the pandemic and the priority of the safety of foreign tourists. The sides also discussed supplies and possible joint production of Sputnik V.
