President Vladimir Putin has signed a decree on holding the Main Naval Parade and Artillery Salute in St. Petersburg on July 25, 2021. The document was published on Friday on the Internet portal of legal information.
"To hold on July 25, 2021, on Navy Day, in St. Petersburg: the Main Naval Parade, at 22 o'clock Moscow time an artillery salute," follows from the document.
In addition, the decree entrusts the Defense Ministry with the preparation and holding of the parade, the government of St. Petersburg should assist in its preparation and holding.
Earlier, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that on July 25, Navy Day, Putin will attend the parade in St. Petersburg. On that day, the President traditionally hosts the parade, which takes place in the waters of the Neva River, and also bypasses the parade line of warships on the Kronstadt roadstead on a boat. He opens the event by congratulating the Russian sailors.
The main naval parade will take place in St. Petersburg on Navy Day, which this year falls on July 25. More than 50 ships, including those from India, Iran and Pakistan, and more than 4 thousand servicemen will take part in it. Parades in honor of the holiday will also be held in Severomorsk, Baltiysk, Sevastopol, Kaspiysk, Vladivostok and Syrian Tartus.
