19 May 2022

At the meeting of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World" within the XIII International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2022" Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maksim Reshetnikov read out the welcome address of Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin:

"Over the time of its existence, the Forum has gained international recognition. Russia and the Islamic states are connected by strong bonds of friendship and mutual respect. We implement joint projects together. Today's Forum is an opportunity to establish new business contacts. I wish you fruitful work and the strengthening of business ties between Russia and the Islamic world".

Maksim Reshetnikov thanked Rustam Minnikhanov and the organizers for their hospitality. "The world economy is facing new challenges - disruption of supply chains, sanctions pressure. In fact, the whole world market is being destroyed. Our country has been living under sanctions for a long time and the domestic market has adapted. There has been no sharp decline in production, and inflation has slowed down. Following inflation, the key rate is reduced and the national currency is strengthening. The country has accumulated economic potential, and we are ready to continue the projects we have started and start new ones. We see great prospects in cooperation with Islamic countries, which are reliable strategic partners. In the last three years the commodity turnover between Russia and Islamic countries has increased by a quarter. Russian business is involved in over 100 projects in Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, UAE and other countries".
