Russian and Turkish military personnel conducted a second joint training session, working out the coordination of attack drones, the Deputy head of the Russian Center for reconciliation of warring parties in Syria, Rear Admiral Alexander Grinkevich.

"During the training, issues of coordination of actions of reconnaissance and strike unmanned aerial vehicles were worked out, including during the fire destruction of targets identified on the route of joint patrols," Grinkevich said.

The first joint training of the Russian military police and the Turkish Armed forces took place on Monday. Then the issues of joint fire destruction of sabotage groups of irreconcilable gangs, as well as the evacuation of damaged equipment and medical assistance to the victims were worked out.

Earlier, during the course of the Russian-Turkish patrol, improvised explosive devices (IEDs) of militants were repeatedly triggered. In particular, on July 14, during the 20th patrol of the M-4 highway, an IED exploded near the settlement of Ariha in the southern part of the Idlib de-escalation zone. Then three Russian servicemen were slightly injured. There were also reports of injuries among the crew of a Turkish armored car.

On August 18, when a Russian convoy returned from a humanitarian action 15 km from the city of Deir ez-Zor, an IED went off on the side of the road in the direction of traffic. As a result, three Russian servicemen were injured. During the evacuation and medical care, a Russian senior military adviser was killed from his severe injuries.
