Russia fully supports Kazakhstan's position on the readiness to suppress any manifestations of nationalism in connection with the information of the media about the so-called language patrols in the republic. This was stated in a commentary distributed on Thursday by Nikolai Lakhonin, deputy director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"The actions of those behind the information planted about the so-called language patrols will not go unreacted by the Kazakh authorities and law enforcement agencies. This is indicated by the statement of the First Deputy Head of the presidential administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev. We note his words about the readiness of the authorities to harshly suppress manifestations of "caveman nationalism". We fully support this position," he pointed out.

"We emphasize that the level of our relations with the Republic of Kazakhstan allows us to promptly take joint measures on each alarming case. For this purpose, we make use of the direct channels of communication available - through diplomats, law enforcement and justice agencies, as well as the administrations of the presidents. This episode is no exception," Lakhonin pointed out.

The commentary notes that the Russian Foreign Ministry is aware of any information of this kind appearing on the Internet. "It is clear that the emotional reaction to it does not have to wait. It is explained primarily by the special attention of our citizens, political scientists and deputies to the situation of Russian compatriots abroad," the commentary says.

Earlier, mass media sources stated that biased persons organized inspection of usage of the Kazakh language at some commercial objects in the republic, and based on its results information was uploaded at one of the channels on YouTube. In the published videos they insulted the representatives of non-indigenous nationalities of the republic.
