The rescue vessel of the Black Sea Fleet has passed the Suez Canal and is heading for the Gulf of Oman

The Black Sea Fleet (BSF) rescue tugboat Kapitan Guriev has passed the Suez Canal and is heading for the Gulf of Oman, where it will take part in securing the Glubina-2021 diving contest, the BSF press service said Wednesday.


"The crew of the rescue tugboat Kapitan Guryev from the squad of rescue vessels of the Novorossiysk Naval Base of the Black Sea Fleet passed the Suez Canal and entered the Red Sea. Kapitan Guriev for the first time is making sea transition from Novorossiysk to the Gulf of Oman," the report says.


The crossing duration is more than 20 days, the route goes through the Suez Canal, three straits, three bays and six seas.


It is specified that the Russian tug will be used as a staff vessel for ensuring the participation of the combined team of the Russian Navy in the international competition in diving multisport Glubina-2021, which will be held in August on the territory of Iran.
