26 July 2021

The Turkish authorities do not plan to introduce new restrictions or tighten the sanitary-epidemiological measures for Russian tourists going on vacation to the republic. This was reported to TASS by the Turkish embassy in Moscow.

"Turkey's official health and tourism authorities are not planning any restrictions or tightening measures for Russian tourists," the diplomatic mission pointed out.

The embassy denied reports related to the publication of Turkish infectious disease doctor Mehmet Ceyhan in a number of Russian media about possible tightening measures in Turkey in relation to Russian tourists due to the growth of coronavirus incidence in the country. "I would like to note that Mr. Mehmet Ceyhan's statement is his personal opinion. Turkey's official health and tourism authorities are not planning any restrictions or tightening measures for Russian tourists," the embassy pointed out.

"Turkey successfully coped with the challenges during the pandemic thanks to a well-developed health system and timely measures taken. In addition, the program "Safe Tourism Certification" implemented in the country includes a set of rules and precautions to ensure safe and comfortable holiday for visitors", added the diplomatic mission.
