Lebanon is experiencing its highest mortality rate in decades, with approximately 250 fatalities weekly in November 2024 due to ongoing clashes between Israel and the Shiite movement Hezbollah, according to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Lebanon.

OCHA's report highlights that the conflict has triggered an unprecedented humanitarian crisis, affecting over one million people.

“Lebanon is enduring a period of extraordinary mortality, with an average of 250 deaths per week in November. This brings the death toll since the escalation began in October 2023 to 3,700,” the report states.
