Afghan Foreign Ministry appoints new Ambassador to Russia

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan has appointed new ambassadors to a number of countries, including Russia. This was reported on Thursday by 1 TV TV channel  with reference to the statement of the Department.


According to it, the diplomatic mission of Afghanistan to Russia will be headed by Saeed Tayeb Javad, who previously served as Ambassador to the UK.

 

 

New ambassadors were also appointed to Austria, Turkey, Azerbaijan, great Britain, Italy, Germany, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, India and Turkmenistan.


President Ashraf Ghani dismissed Ambassador to Russia Latif Bahand from his post on August 9. He has headed the diplomatic mission since October 2018. According to the Pajhwok news agency, Mukhtar Humayun was appointed interim Ambassador of Afghanistan to Russia.
