Bust of Yevgeny Primakov unveiled in Belgrade

The opening ceremony of the bronze bust in honor of the 90th anniversary of the Soviet and Russian statesman, diplomat, orientalist Yevgeny Primakov, who was one of the founders of the Group of Strategic vision Russia-Islamic world, took place in the Russian House in Belgrade - Russian center of science and culture.


As reported by RIA Novosti, the event was attended by President Alexander Vucic, Defense Minister Alexander Vulin, Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, Head of Rossotrudnichestvo Eleonora Mitrofanova, etc.


Vucic emphasized that Primakov's policy was far-sighted, serious and responsible.


"There has been a turn in Russia's foreign policy, which implies the concept of a multipolar world based on maintaining the national interests of states," he said.


Serbia reveres Primakov's memory for the decision to cancel the visit to the USA in stay the Prime Minister because of the beginning of the NATO bombings of Yugoslavia in March 1999. Having heard about it, Primakov literally turned his plane over the Atlantic and took a new course in the country's foreign policy aimed at defending national interests.
