30 December 2019

In 2019, bilateral agreements on visa-free entry for ordinary passports holders and their stay for 90 days cane into force with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Costa Rica, the Commonwealth of Dominica, the Republic of Suriname, the Republic of Maldives, the Republic of Palau and the United Arab Emirates. Thus, the total number of visa-free countries for Russians has reached 89. This is stated in a message published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

The number of countries whose citizens have a visa-free procedure for entering the Russian territory by ordinary passports, as noted, has increased to 57.

In addition, a pilot project has been expanded on issuing electronic visas for foreign citizens to enter through checkpoints in the Far Eastern Federal district by connecting the Kaliningrad and Leningrad regions, as well as the city of St. Petersburg.
