Head of Russia’s Federal Youth Agency: We Invite the Youth of the Islamic World

16 May

Grigory Gurov, Head of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs, spoke at the plenary session of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” on the topic “The Experience of Russia and the Islamic World in Youth Policy: Common Challenges and Joint Actions.”

“Our country has demonstrated a cutting-edge approach to organizing the World Youth Festival, which brought together 20,000 young people from 190 countries. Following the event, President Putin instructed that the festival’s legacy be preserved – thus, annual gatherings and forums will now be held in Russia,” Gurov reported.

He highlighted a wide range of youth initiatives: international friendship clubs (600 events with 30,000 participants) and project offices in Kazan and Omsk designed to foster cooperation with the Islamic world and Central Asia. The projects place particular emphasis on volunteerism and the promotion of traditional values in education.

“We invite the youth of the Islamic world to join our initiatives, including the Kazan Global Youth Summit, where experts from 70 countries engage in dialogue on development issues,” Gurov concluded.
