"Interpretation of the Holy Quran in the past and present" international theological conference starts in Kazan

Today Kazan hosts the V international theological conference "Interpretation of the Holy Quran in the past and present: The role of Islamic scholars in modern society in the light of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah".

 

 

 

The conference was organized by the Center of the Quran and Sunnah studies of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the Spiritual administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan in the framework of the action plan of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia - Islamic World".

 

 

 

The main topics of discussion will be the role and place of Islamic scholars and the Muslim clergy in modern Muslim society and in a multi-confessional state; the situation in the Muslim Ummah, formed as a result of attempts to oppose the traditional clergy to the Muslim Ummah; opposition to a targeted campaign of planting a negative image of the Muslim clergy; analysis of the destructive activities of the ideology of radical movements acting in the interests of various geopolitical centers, their role in the formation of a negative image of the traditional Muslim clergy on a global scale, etc.

 

 

 

The aim of the conference, as noted by the organizers, is to debunk the false stereotypes associated with the image of the modern Muslim clergy in the media.

 

 

 

The main objective of the conference is to reveal the true role of Islamic scholars, the Muslim clergy in modern society, as well as to develop recommendations to the Muslim community in building a permanent dialogue between the clergy and society.

 

 

 


The conference is attended by delegations from Syria, Iran, Egypt, Pakistan, Germany, Turkey, the Netherlands, etc.
