Iranian Foreign Minister says relations between the country and Russia are becoming strategic

The close ties between Tehran and Moscow are on the way to a strategic relationship, Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdollahian said on Thursday at a meeting in Moscow with Leonid Slutsky, head of the State Duma Foreign Affairs Committee.


"Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's current visit to Moscow reflects the importance the Islamic Republic attaches to relations with Russia," the Tasnim news agency quoted the minister as saying. - "The close relations between Tehran and Moscow are on the way to strategic ties."


Iran's president is visiting Russia. He is accompanied on the trip by the ministers of foreign affairs, oil and economy, and finance.
