Kazakhstan says it has completed an anti-terrorist operation in almost all regions

Law enforcement agencies of Kazakhstan have completed anti-terrorist operation in 14 out of 17 regions of the country, the press service of the National Security Committee of the country reported on Thursday.

 

"For the current period, the situation has been stabilized in 14 regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan. For this reason, the republican operational headquarters for combating terrorism notifies the end of the anti-terrorist operation and the cancellation of the critical red level of terrorist danger in the territories of the cities of Nur-Sultan, Shymkent, Akmola, Aktobe, Atyrau, East Kazakhstan, West Kazakhstan, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Kostanai, Mangistau, Pavlodar, North Kazakhstan and Turkestan regions," stated the message.

 

 

As clarified in the press service, in three regions of the country, the anti-terrorist operation continues. "At the same time in the city of Almaty, Almaty and Zhambyl regions, measures to identify and detain terrorists and persons involved in other criminal activities during the mass unrest are being implemented. Accordingly, the anti-terrorist operation in these regions continues, a critical red level of terrorist danger remains," the report said.
