The next Russia–Central Asia summit will take place in the fall, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced during a press conference following his visit to Uzbekistan.
“We discussed plans to strengthen cooperation within the CIS, SCO, and the ‘Central Asian Five plus Russia’ format—particularly in light of the recent foreign ministers’ meeting held on April 11 in Almaty,” Lavrov said. “One of the key objectives of that meeting was to prepare for the upcoming Russia–Central Asia summit, which is scheduled for the fall.”
He added that the summit is expected to be held in October on the sidelines of the CIS summit in Dushanbe.
The first Russia–Central Asia summit took place in Astana in October 2022.
