OIC calls to help monsoon-hit Rohingya

11 July 2019

The OIC Secretary General, Yousef Al-Othaimeen, has called on the international community to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to thousands of displaced Rohingya living in camps in Bangladesh.

Heavy Monsoon rains have been pounding these camps for nearly a week resulting in destruction of over 6,000 homes. Humanitarian workers are now on the ground, but it's not yet possible to rectify the situation.

More heavy rains are expected in Bangladesh and there is a vital need to come forward and assist Rohingya living in camps.
