Since August, humanitarian organizations have delivered more than 86,000 tons of supplies to Gaza to support the construction of tent camps. This was announced by the Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), an Israeli government body overseeing affairs in Palestinian territories.
“Since August 1, a total of 6,442 trucks carrying 86,200 tons of shelter equipment, including tens of thousands of tents, have entered Gaza,” the statement said.
Earlier in August, COGAT reported that since the outbreak of hostilities in October 2023, more than 280,000 tents had been sent to Gaza, with a combined capacity to house over two million people.
