Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan's visit to Russia for talks with Russian head of state Vladimir Putin is being prepared, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed to reporters on Monday.

"Indeed, a working visit to the Russian Federation by Turkish president Erdogan is being prepared," the Kremlin spokesman said. According to him, "the agenda [of the talks] is the most extensive, starting with bilateral relations - and this is a very multidimensional relationship, the presidents always have something to talk about in this context." "Of course, Syria and other regional conflicts will also be discussed," Peskov predicted.

Reuters reported last week, citing sources, that Erdogan would arrive in Sochi in September to discuss the situation in Syria, particularly in the Idlib area.

In late August, Erdogan also said that during his upcoming visit to Russia, he intended to discuss with Putin the details of the purchase of the second regiment of S-400 air defense missile systems.
