Putin and Tokayev are satisfied with agreements reached within CSTO and SCO

Presidents of Russia and Kazakhstan Vladimir Putin and Kassym-Jomart Tokayev expressed satisfaction with the agreements reached at CSTO and SCO events. This was reported by the Kremlin press service following a telephone conversation between the two leaders.


"The presidents discussed the work of recent multilateral events within the CSTO and SCO, expressing satisfaction with the agreements reached," the press service said.


According to the press service of the Kazakh president, Putin and Tokayev also discussed holding a forum of interregional cooperation between the two countries on September 30 in Kokshetau. "During the conversation, the parties, expressing satisfaction with the development of trade and economic relations, stressed the importance of the upcoming September 30 interregional forum in Kokshetau, as well as the qualitative filling of the content of this event," the report says.


Besides, Tokayev congratulated the Russian leader on the successful elections of State Duma deputies in Russia. "The outcome of the elections, the Kazakh president believes, is important for strengthening domestic political stability in Russia," the press service of the Kazakh president said in a statement.


Tokayev also expressed deep condolences for the deaths of people in an armed attack at Perm State National Research University.
