Russia and Uzbekistan have agreed to work together on migration matters, including the advance preparation of Uzbek citizens planning to work in Russia. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with top international news agency leaders, hosted by TASS.
“We understand that there are many social and labor market issues. President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and I agreed that we will tackle migration issues jointly,” Putin said. “We know the state of our labor market today, and Uzbekistan is under certain demographic pressure as well. So we decided to coordinate our efforts—specifically by preparing workers in advance who wish to work in Russia.”
He also emphasized the importance of working with younger generations, noting that youth cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan is receiving growing attention.
