Putin: Russia, Turkey and Iran are helping to establish a political dialogue in Syria

27 January

Russia, together with Turkey and Iran, are promoting political dialogue in Syria. Russian President Vladimir Putin said this on Wednesday during an online speech at the "Davos week".

"Within the framework of the Astana format, Russia, Iran, and Turkey are doing a lot to stabilize the situation in Syria. And now they are helping to establish a political dialogue in that country, together, of course, with other countries. We are doing this together and generally not without success, I want to emphasize this," he said.

Moscow, Tehran and Ankara are guarantors of the Astana process to normalize the situation in Syria.
