Putin suggested strengthening SCO anti-terrorist structure

Russian president Vladimir Putin suggested that the Shanghai cooperation organization's regional anti-terrorism structure (SCO RATS) should include specialists in combating money laundering and terrorist financing to strengthen it.


"As for cooperation directly within the SCO, we would consider it useful to strengthen the functional capabilities of the regional anti-terrorist structure by including experts in combating money laundering, terrorist financing and proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in its staff," Putin said during his speech at the SCO summit via video link.


He also stressed that Russia will "actively participate" in the implementation of the SCO cooperation program to combat terrorism, separatism and extremism in 2022-2024, the action plan to implement the anti-drug strategy of the SCO until 2023, as well as the interaction plans to ensure international information security in 2022-2023.
