Raisi said his visit to Moscow could become a turning point in Iran's ties with Russia

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi said before flying to Moscow that his visit could be a turning point in political, economic and trade relations between Iran and Russia, the IRNA news agency reported on Wednesday.


"The visit could be a turning point in Iran's political, economic and trade relations with Russia and could also be effective for security, economic and trade relations in the region," IRNA quoted the president as telling reporters before flying out of Tehran's Mehrabad Airport. - "This trip is at the invitation of Mr. [Russian President Vladimir] Putin, and during this trip, efforts will be made to promote a policy of good neighborliness in the region".


"The interaction between Iran and Russia in the region will certainly ensure security and prevent unilateralism," the Iranian president pointed out. - "We and Russia are members of many economic and political organizations in the region, such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and Russia plays an important role in these organizations."


"Russia plays a key role in the Eurasian Economic Union, and our cooperation in this direction can be effective in promoting trade and economic projects," Raisi pointed out.
