Russia-Africa Summit can become regular

17 July 2019

Russia favors holding the Russia-Africa Summit regularly, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and  Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and Africa Mikhail Bodganov told reporters.

"This surely won't be a single event. This is the first (summit), and this will be the beginning of a long road. We want to suggest (holding the summit) regularly, every two or three years," he noted.

Bogdanov also said that about 35 leaders have officially confirmed their participation in the summit in October in Sochi.

"The number [of participants] will be growing. We feel our partners’ commitment and their keen interest", the diplomat said.
