Russia and Portugal have discussed the security in Europe

In Lisbon, Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Grushko and State Secretary for European Affairs of the Portuguese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ana Paula Zacarias and Director General for Foreign Policy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Portugal Pedro Sanchez Da Costa Pereira have held talks.

 

 


According to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Diplomats have discussed the possibility of enhancing Russian-Portuguese relations.

 

 


The important role of regular political dialogue and the necessity to strengthen the juridical base were focused on the meeting. There was reviewed the course of the preparation of events to celebrate the 240th Anniversary of Russian-Portuguese diplomatic relations.

 

 


Special attention was paid to the issues of European security and Russian relations with the EU and NATO. Also the regional problems in Ukraine were affected, around Venezuela, as well as the Syrian settlement and the whole situation in the Middle East.
