Russia will soon provide Kyrgyzstan with firefighting vehicles and a helicopter worth $20 million as part of technical assistance, President of the republic Sadyr Zhaparov said Wednesday at the ceremony of handing over motor vehicles to Kyrgyz ministries and departments.
"In February or March, we will receive 40 firefighting trucks and one Mi-8 helicopter as an assistance from Russia," he said.
According to the president, these vehicles will be given to EMERCOM of the republic. According to Zhaparov, the Russian aid will amount to about $20 million.
On Wednesday, a ceremony of handing over equipment, which has been purchased by the Kyrgyz authorities or received as aid, was held on the central square in Bishkek. China donated 100 fire trucks, 120 buses bought from a Chinese company, and 35 ambulances purchased in Russia.
According to Zhaparov, all this equipment will be sent to Bishkek and a number of regions of the republic.
