Russian Foreign Ministry condemns terrorist attack in Baghdad

Moscow strongly condemns the terrorist attack in Baghdad and stands in solidarity with the Iraqi leadership and people in the fight against terrorism, the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.


Earlier it was reported that a double terrorist attack took place Thursday morning in a market in Baghdad's Bab al-Sharqi district. It killed 32 people and wounded 110.


"We strongly condemn this audacious terrorist attack aimed at undermining security and stability in friendly Iraq. We stand in solidarity with the Iraqi leadership and people in the fight against terrorism in all its manifestations," the ministry said.


Moscow also confirmed the importance of intensifying collective international efforts to effectively and uncompromisingly counter this global threat.


"We express our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and wish a speedy recovery to the injured," the Foreign Ministry added.
