Russia and the UAE have good prospects for cooperation in a number of areas, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov told RIA Novosti.
According to him, the most promising area of cooperation is mechanical engineering.
In particular, Russian Railways, Uralvagonzavod, Transmashholding and others can take part in joint projects with Arab companies.
In addition, Russia can supply the UAE with helicopters.
The UAE is also interested in the construction of a high-speed passenger catamaran "Sapsan" and a cargo-passenger trimaran based on Russian projects and is considering the possibility of attracting Russian scientists to train ships' crew.
Manturov also drew attention to the UAE's interest in short-haul aircraft SSJ100, medium-haul liner MS-21 and amphibious aircraft Be-200.
Today Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Saudi Arabia. Tomorrow, October 15, he will visit the UAE.
