Rustam Minnikhanov met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman

Rustam Minnikhanov, the Rais of Tatarstan, held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Oman. The sides noted the importance of strengthening interregional ties within the framework of Russian-Omani relations.


Earlier, Rais of Tatarstan took part in a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. The head of the Sultanate made a state visit to Russia on April 22. During the conversation, an agreement was reached on the participation of an Omani delegation at KazanForum. Additionally, the parties discussed the importance of exchanging business missions to find new partners and conclude agreements, as well as implement joint projects.


In order to develop cooperation on a permanent basis, they agreed to work out the issue of appointing an Honorary Consul of the Sultan of Oman in Kazan and opening a trade and economic office of the Republic of Tatarstan in Muscat.


Rustam Minnikhanov, heads the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia - Islamic World” on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. An active participant in the work of the Group is the representative of Oman, the Chairman of the Sultan Qaboos Higher Center for Culture and Science, Habib al-Riyami.
