This year on June, 16, within the framework of the working visit to Cairo of Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council on International Affairs, Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World”, Head of the Group for Cooperation between the Federation Council and the Chamber of Deputies of the Arab Republic of Egypt, Farit Mukhametshin, the meeting with the leadership of the Cairo University was held.
Farit Mukhametshin and Rector of the University Mohammed Hasht, discussed the initiative of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” to create the Russian-Egyptian Centre for Partnerships and Civilizations on the basis of this educational institution.
The activities of the Russian-Egyptian Centre for Partnerships and Civilizations supposes to establish interaction and dialogue between leading scientists and experts of Russia and Egypt in various fields, to conduct joint scientific research, conferences and round tables, to prepare scientific and journalistic publications on topical issues on the international agenda, to organize teaching and student exchanges, including summer camps in Russia and Egypt.
Deputy Chairman of the Group of Strategic Vision Farit Mukhametshin is convinced that the largest University of the Middle East in Cairo will become one of the productive platforms for the development of dialogue and partnership between Russia and Egypt. It will contribute to preservation and multiplication of the richest cultural, historical and spiritual heritage of the civilizations.
During the visit, Farit Mukhametshin also met with a member of the Group of Strategic Vision “Russia – Islamic World” from Egypt, Director of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs Ezzat Saad. There were discussed the issues related to the activation of joint work within the framework of the Group with the help of the instruments of inter-cultural and inter-civilizational dialogue.
