12 January 2022

At a meeting with CSTO Secretary-General Stanislav Zas, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that the situation with the recent unrest in the republic confirmed the value of the CSTO as a military-political structure, the press service of the President of Kazakhstan reported on Wednesday.

"This situation has once again confirmed the value of the organization as a political-military structure. I think the Collective Security Treaty Organization is now talked about in the international community. The effectiveness of the organization was quite evident in this situation. It is extremely important, from my point of view, that the secretariat should establish interaction with the leadership of other international organizations," Tokayev said.
