Uzbekistan completes reconstruction of airport in Mazar-e-Sharif, Afghanistan

Experts from Uzbekistan complete the reconstruction of the airport in Mazar-e-Sharif in Afghanistan. This was stated on Tuesday by the director of the Information and Analytical Center for International Relations under the Uzbek Foreign Ministry, Daniyar Kurbanov, speaking at the II Central Asian Conference of the Valdai International Discussion Club.


"Our specialists are completing the reconstruction of the airport in Mazar-e-Sharif," he said.


Kurbanov noted that Tashkent is doing a lot to restore Afghanistan as a historical bridge between Central and South Asia. "Afghanistan receives more than 30% of its imports through the Uzbek transport and logistics hub in Termez. Uzbek electricity is supplied to Kabul," he said.


Earlier, it was reported that specialists from Uzbekistan at the request of the Afghan side are reconstructing the international airport in Mazar-e-Sharif.
